MORRICONE — Loved by the audience — decorated with the Champion’s Ribbon — chosen as the “winner” — the Oldenburger Champion Stallion in 2014!
Morricone’s title in Vechta was cheered with a standing ovation.
This champion stallion’s elegance is hard to beat. With his royal appearance and outstanding movements, and always in self carriage, he inspired the Oldenburg breeding Director Dr. Schulze Schleppinghoff to say:
“Under saddle, Morricone exceeds all expectations. For one, he dances through three fantastic basic gaits, showing rhythm and a captivating activity of the hind legs. More over, the unwavering strength of character and the rideability of Morricone is outstanding and unique for a 3-year old Stallion.”
In his 30 day test in Adelsheidsdorf, he had an overall dressage capability score of 9.33 and a breeding value for dressage of a sensational 158 points.
The judges’ panel agreed four times to award the maximum score of 10.0; twice for the walk and twice for rideability. The scores 9.5 and 9.0 were all nine times for the trot, canter, interior qualities, Character, temperament, and willingness to work.
His Father, Millennium, was the second reserve winner of the Trakehner Hauptkörung in 2010. He has a direct connection to the Trakehner noble blood of Gribaldi, who still stands high in the rankings of the WBFSH since 2014, and is listed as the best dressage producing sire.
His direct mother, Hartima, is a noble mare by Rubin Royal. Her sire, Rubin Royal OLD, comes from one of the most successful Oldenburg brood mare lines, to that of the Rudi’s line. Rubin Royal OLD, who has already produced 26 licensed sons, is an international Grand Prix winner, under Hendrik Lochthowe. He is the direct full brother to the stallion Romanov — internationally successful under Hans Peter Minderhoud, as well as to four other licensed stallions.
Grandsire is the venerable De Niro. The Donnerhall son has for many years been an undisputed leader in the ranking list of the WBFSH as the best dressage sire of the world.
Morricone is proving to be an absolutely solid riding horse in training with Falk Rosenbauer, and his first foals appear stamped in every way by their sire.

“PHENOMENAL TYPES AND MASTER MOVERS”
“The Oldenburg foal show at Bonhomme stud also presented an official evalution of Morricone’s offspring (Nachzuchtbewertung). 15 Morricone foals were presented to the judges of the Oldenburg commitee. All Morricone foals made a fantastic impression. They showed very modern and highly elegant types, strong hind legs, correct conformation and very nice, super elastic trot.”
