Description
Blue Hors Don Olymbrio outshined his competitors during the licensing in Herning in 2011. “A rubber ball” was the opinion of experts and colleagues! After that, Don Olymbrio finished an outstanding stallion performance test and got a total score of 809 points.
In 2012, he qualified for the Danish Championships for 4 year old horses. In the qualifier, he reached a score of 9.2 for trot and an 8.8 for canter.
In 2014, he won as a 6-year old the qualifier for the Danish Championship in Middelfart and the intermediate examination. Unfortunately, an injury prevented his participation at the finals in Odense.
In the fall of 2016 Don Olymbrio was crowned Elite stallion by the Danish Warmblood Society at the age of 9. As well in breeding as in sport Don Olymbrio’s results are outstanding. 2017 was the year of his international breakthrough. Don Olymbrio did his first Grand Prix at a national show in Esbjerg. His international debut made Don Olymbryo at the CDI in Herning, at the same time as the Danish stalllionshow. This was followed by good results at the CDI in Hagen and the fourth place at the Danish Championships in Broholm. The good performances resulted in selection of Don Olymbrio for the Nations Cup in Aachen, where the team secured an outstanding fourth place. Breeding wise, in addition to Orion, who was premium stallion in Herning 2017, Blue Hors Don Olymbrio also sired a licensed son at the Hanoverian stallion licensing in Verden as well as two stallion prospects ready for the Danish Warmblood stallions licensing 2017 in Herning.
His sire Jazz was very successful at the highest level, for example at the World Championships in Jerez in 2002 and is the leader of the WBFSH ranking for dressage stallions with the most offspring in international Grand Prix classes. Among them the 2011 European Champion and World Champion Parzival ridden by the Dutch Adelinde Cornelissen.
Dam sire Ferro won with his rider Coby van Baalen the team silver medal at the Olympic Games in 2000 and founded his own stallion line in the Netherlands, which produced the stallions Rousseau, Metall, Rhodium and Special D. Ferro produced, just like Jazz, many successful dressage horses. His offspring is characterized by a convincing ability to collect, which is a very important quality for a dressage horse!
Don Olymbrio originates from one of the most successful Dutch mare lines (Family 145), which also produced the Rubinstein-son OO Seven and Edward Gal’s Grand Prix horse Voice by De Niro. Furthermore, the Grand Prix horses Celiton, Kadans and Olympic Babria, winner of the team silver medal at the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996 with Tineke Bartels, originate from this line. The great grand dam Ezabria won the Dutch Championships as a three year old.
Blue Hors Don Olymbrio seems to be a very promising sire. He produced a lot of excellent foals with a nice type and frame. The majority of the foals showed good movements and a lot of impression. The movements fulfill all expectations which are important for a sport horse.
From his first crop, two sons are selected for the Danish licensing in Herning and one son is selected for the South German Stallion Days in January 2015!
